Mason House Inn

June 27 & 28, 2008

Over the two days we did one Frank Box session up at the Bentonsport Cemetery and one session in front of the Inn.  On Saturday we did two sessions in Room 4 because that was the only room where we could get good reception.  The following are transcripts from portions of those sessions.  Personal messages are not transcribed.

27 June  - at the cemetery:

"Who is here with us tonight?"...................girl's voice: 'Jessica'     man's voice: 'Two spirits'

"Are you a child?".....................girl: 'Yes'

"Do you want to be here?"................man: 'No'

"When did you pass?".................girl:  'Yesterday'   (Chris said this could mean weeks or months since time is different for them.)

"Where did you live?"...............'Down there.  Down the hill.'

"How old are you?"...............'Sixteen'

"Is Frederick Hancock here tonight?"....................'Yes'

"Thank you for letting us use your monument to talk to you."...............'Uh-huh'

"What is your name?"..........................man: 'Jack.  I'm back.'

"Do you know any of us?"................'No'

"Would you like to?".................'Sure'

"Why don't you like it here?"...................'Scary'

"How is it frightening?".................'Him.  He checks on us.'

"Did you go to the light yet?"......................'Yes.'     Another voice: ' I'm on top of the hill.'

"Who's on top of the hill?"...........................'It wasn't right.  The way I died.  It was awful.  Wasn't right.'

Chris: "Ty, how many spirits are here now?"......................Ty: 'Several'   man: 'I just want peace.'

"Who said you want peace?  What is your name?"..................'Jim.  I used to be another person.  I try to talk when I come back.'

"Is the man who watches you nice?"..................... Three voices say 'yes', one man says 'No'.

"Are there any Mason family members here tonight?"...........child's voice:  'Yes'

"What is your first name?"...................'We need to wash our hands.'

"Are you upset because of the flood?".....................man: 'You're not competent.  Always complaining.'

"Okay, we're going to go now.  Thank you for talking with us."...............'Okay'

June 27th - Outside  in front of the Inn:

Chuck: "Is there an Anna who inhabits the Inn?".............'Yes'

"How old is Anna?".....................girl's voice: 'Thirteen'

"Anna, did you have a message for Joy this last week while she was sleeping?"...........'In her dreams.'

"What did you tell her?"..............'Not to worry.'

"Did you tell her anything about the equipment?"..............'I thought it was broken.'

"What was broken?"...................'Something was crushed.  Stopped working.'

"Did Joy get all of your message?".............'She woke up too soon.  Missed the important part.  Didn't get all of it.'

"Does she need to worry about the rest of the message now?"..........Harold: 'He's hurting me.'

"Who's hurting you, Harold?"....................'Joseph.  He's awful.'

"Is that someone who isn't a resident of the Inn?".................'Yes.  He's blocking us.'

"Harold, can you get him out of the area?"....................'Higher than I am.'

Guest:  "Harold, were you here the first time I visited the Inn?"..................'Yes'

"Did you give me a sign of your presence?"..................'Josephine did.'

"Who knocked on the wall?"......................'Amanda.  She did it.'

"Is there anybody here not from Bentonsport?".....................Harold: 'That's me.'  (He's from Peoria originally)

"Is Lewis Mason here?"................'Yes'

"Does it wear you out to try to communicate with us?".....................no answer

"Are you upset about the flood last week?"....................'Yes'

"What are you upset about?".................'The waste'

"Are we doing the right things to protect the Inn?"..................Harold: 'He's blocking again.'

Chuck:  "Samuel, you need to leave and stop blocking the ones who want to talk."........'No'

"I've given you an apology from Bentonsport.  If you want an apology from Herman, you will have to go over there to his house.  Now leave us alone so we can talk.".................silence, then a woman's voice:  'We're trying to talk.  Can you hear us?'

"Yes.  What about the flood?"............man's voice: 'The loss.  The waste.  Prepare for next week.'

"Is there going to be more rain?"................'Yes'

"Should we keep our sandbags up?"............'Yes'

"Thank you for the warning."....................'You're welcome.'    Lewis: 'Tunnel collapsed.  Devastated.'

"What year was that?"...................'Sixty-five'

"1865?".................'Yes'

"How long was the tunnel up before it collapsed?"..................'Ten, maybe less.  There's a book.  Inscription in the book.'

"What book?".........'Journal'

"Whose journal?"..........'Greef's.   Red leather.'

"Who has the book now?"................'Red hair.  She's crazy.'

"The previous owner?"................'They did.  Plans.  Drawings.'

"Drawing plans of the tunnel?"..........'Yes.  They sold it.'         Samuel: 'They smeared my name!  Destroyed me!'

Chuck:  "As I explained to you, Samuel, that sometimes happens in a war.  Bad things happen that no one can help."......................'They threw stones at me.  I lost my leg!'

"We know that.  We apologize for what they did to you.  We can't change it."..............'It wasn't my fault.'

"We know that.  And they shouldn't have treated you like they did.  But we can't change that now.".........'I want to hear it from them.'

"You're going to have to get it from them."..............two voices say 'I'm sorry'.      Samuel: 'It wasn't you.'    Harold: 'It happened.  It's over.'     Samuel:  'There's no understanding.  Why don't you believe me.'

"We do believe you.".............Samuel: 'I tried to help you.  You didn't listen.'

"When did you try to help me?"...............'When the box first came.'

"What box?"................'This box.'

"How did you try to help me?"..........'Help.  You should have listened to me then.'

"I apologize.  I didn't know you were trying to help me."

Chris:  "If you want my opinion, I think he's jealous of what you have here.  He's on the outside.  I think he's jealous.  All the spirits here are happy and content and he's on the outside looking in."

Chuck:  "Samuel, if you will let this thing drop and will be happy and content, you will be welcome in the Inn.  But not as a combatant.  We can't accept you this way - as a combatant."................'Tell Mary to stop.'

"Mary is protecting the Inn."...............'That's absolutely not an excuse.'

"It is.  This is her home." .....................'She doesn't understand.'

"Was Mary mad at you when you came back from the war?".............'Frightened me.'

"You're going to have to deal with that with Mary.  Don't take it out on us now."..............'She won't let me in.'

"She won't let you in because you're blocking and making things difficult for us."..........'It was all planned.  The disgrace.'

"The disgrace was all planned?"..............'Yes'

"Samuel, what I said was: what you did in the war was honorable despite the way they treated you.  But it's over.  You need to get past it and move on."..............'I can't'

Chris:  "It's starting to rain.  We need to end this session and get inside.  Thank you.  Good bye.".........Amanda: 'It's raining!'

During the night, someone took a necklace from Room 7 and later put it back in a different place.

June 28, Room 4, First session:

"Who all do we have with us right now?"..................Tyler: 'Everybody'

"Anna, are you here tonight?"..............'Yes'

"Anna, you said you were thirteen years old right?".................'Yes'

"What year did you die?"....................'1879'

"Did you die in Bentonsport?".....................'No.  Up the street.'

"Anna, you said you talked to Joy in her dreams.  What was the message?"................'It was broken.'

"You said she missed part of the message.  What was the rest of the message?"............'About next week.'

"What about next week?"..................'Look out.'

"Is the flood coming back next week?"..................'Yes. Get ready for it.'

"Is it going to be worse than last time?"...............................'Than last time. Yes.'

"Do we need to make the wall bigger?"..................'Don't take it down yet.'

"Will be able to keep the water out of the Inn?"..........'Maybe.  It might break.  Get ready.  Too much power.  You don't know what's coming.  Too high.  Breaching the bridge.'

"It's going to go over the bridge?".....................'Yes sir.  It will seem to never end.'

"Are we going to survive this?"...................'Yes.  Be hard though.  Protect the house.'

"Will you keep warning us through Joy's dreams?"...............'I'll try.'

"We want to thank you for telling her the message last time."............'I try to help.'

"So we have alot more work to do.".......................'You do.'

Guest:  "Was someone moving the things around in my room?"...........'That was me.  Harold.'

"You took my daughter's shoes and I couldn't find them anywhere, and then there they were, and they weren't there before."...................'I did it.  Hahaha.'

"Thank you for giving them back.  She needs them.  Was that you standing at my door last night?"..........'Maybe'

"Are you going to manifest for me tonight?"................'Maybe'

"I want to take your picture."...................'I can't do that.'

Chuck: "Who moved the necklace in Room 7 last night?"..........'That was Amanda.'

"That was a good trick.  I 'm glad you gave it back."...............Amanda: 'It scared her.'

"Yeah, it did."...............Harold: 'Ha ha ha.  We tricked her.'           Amanda: 'I thought she was going to cry.'

Guest: "Who was behind me when I arrived last night?"..............Harold: 'That was me.  Got you.'

Another guest: "Are you going to visit me in Room 8 tonight?".............Harold: 'I will.'

"Is Michael Brown still in Room 8?".............'He moved.'

"Did he move to another room or moved away from the Inn?"..............'He moved to seven.'

Guest:  "Has someone been playing with my daughter?"..............Harold: 'The little girl.'

"At breakfast, did she see you?".............'I think so.  I was trying to help her.'

Chuck:  Are Stacy and Tabitha here?".......'Not Stacy.  Tabitha is.'

"Tabitha, thank you for the flowers from you and Stacy and Doug.  They are very nice.".............'You're welcome.'

"Did you see Doug yesterday?"..........'I did.  It was good.'

Guest:  "Is the spirit of a sixteen year old boy here tonight?"............'Markie is here.'

Chuck:  "Markie, are you staying here full time now?"........'I might not be leaving.'

"Amanda will be happy about that."...............Amanda: 'I am'

"Is David here tonight?"................'I don't see him.'

"Is he upstairs?"....................Markie: 'He doesn't want to talk.'

Guest:  "Come visit me tonight in Room 6."................Harold: 'Ask nice.'

"Will you please visit me tonight in Room 6?"..............'Maybe'

Chris: "Okay, we're going to go now.  We'll be back in a few minutes with another group."...........'We'll be here.'

28 June, Room 4, second session:

Chris: "Is everyone here with us that was here before?".............'Yes'

"The flood you guys were talking about, what year was that?  1903?"...............Anna: 'This year.  8.'

"So there's going to be more flooding?"...............'Four more'

"Four more floods this year?"...........'Be prepared.  The worst one will be at the end of the summer.'

"So I shouldn't take down the sandbags yet?"...................Harold: 'I wouldn't'

Guest:  "Will it be all of Iowa?"...........'Only near the rivers.'

"The Cedar River?"...............'Yes'

"How many children are in the Inn now?"...........Mary: 'They're all over.'    Harold: 'Too many'

Joy:  "What's the name of the man on the bridge?"...............Harold:  'Arthur.  Why haven't you seen him?'

"I haven't seen him but several of our guests have."................Arthur:  'Try to see me.'

"I've sensed you but I haven't seen you yet."..................'I'm always up there.'

Guest:  "Who's Robert?"...............'He's walking.'

Joy:  "Arthur, are you on the bridge because something happened to your daughter?"..............'I lost her.'

Guest: "Are you by the trees?"................'No, trees, no.  That's Robert.  He walks there.'

Chuck:  "Mary, are you here?"............Mary: 'I'm always here.'

"Mary, can you try to resolve your differences with Samuel?"...................'You don't know what he did.'

"How do we stop him from blocking the box?"..................'Move from 5 to 4.  (Meaning room numbers)

"But how do we get him out of the building?".................Samuel: 'I want an apology for the pain.'   Mary: 'You don't know what he did.  There's damages.'

"I know we don't know what he did, but is there a way to resolve it so he will stop blocking the box?"..........Samuel:  'Build a memorial.'

"Build a memorial to your time in the war?"...............Samuel:  'That sounds good.'

"So if we put a plaque up somewhere with your name on it as a war memorial to you, will that make you happy?".............Harold: 'This is stupid.'     Samuel: 'Yes'      Amanda:  'I'm getting tired of this.'      Mary: 'Just do it.'

"Can we name Harold and Markie too?"...............Samuel: 'No, just me.'

"So if I put up a plaque saying "Thank you Samuel Paine for your war effort", will that do it?"............'Yes'

"Will you leave us alone then?"..............'Maybe.  Make it soon.'

"Can it be on paper?".................'Real gold'

"Can we print it out on paper and put it in a gold frame?  Will that do?"..............'Excellent.   I still want an apology from across the street.'

"You'll have to get Herman's apology from him over there.  He won't come over here.  We'll hang a plaque to you."............'Say words.  Invite everybody for the ceremony.'       Harold:  'I'm going to be sick.  This is so stupid.'    Mary: 'Just do it.'

"I'm counting on you to keep your part of the bargain."............'I'll work on it.  Make it a big deal for the whole town.'

"Can we invite everybody who has passed to attend?"...........'Yes'

"And whoever comes, comes.  If they don't, we can't help it."..........Harold: 'This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard.'     Amanda: 'I want to come.'

Chris: "Okay, we're going to go now.  Thank you for talking with us.  Bye.".........'Bye'

Later, Chris asked Tyler what he thought about all the devastating flood warnings and Ty thought Anna was blowing things out of proportion.  He said she was being a bit dramatic. He thinks the river will go up and down several more times over the summer, but nothing too bad.

During the night, the lady in Room 2 said she was the shadow of a man standing outside the bedroom door and there was a knock on the door, but when she looked out the window there was nothing there.   The people in Room 6 heard a voice say "Stop yelling.   Stop yelling.  Stop yelling."  It was whispered, but it was said three times.  They also heard footsteps in their room like boots walking around.  Cindi was sleeping in the Keeping Room and she heard footsteps in the hallway above her that sounded like a small child running after some adults.  She said the heavy footsteps kept going back and forth but the child went one direction (toward Room 8) and did not return.  She assumed the people in Room 8 had put a child to bed, but there was no child in that room that night.  (The child was in Room2).  She said it was about 3am, and some of the people up there had stayed up till 3:30am doing their own investigation, but none of them saw a child.  Cindi must have heard one of the ghost children following them in the hallway.  She said she wished she'd known it was the ghost child at the time, because it would have been more fun.
