     Chris Moon held a 101 class here on Feb. 2, 2008.  It was too cold to go up to the cemetery, so we did two "Telephone to the Dead" sessions in Room 5.  The following is a transcript of those sessions.  The personal messages were not transcribed.

          First session, Room 5:

Chris - "Who all is here with us tonight?"............Harold - 'Everybody is here.'

Chuck - "The last time Chris was here, a lady in Room 6 was visited during the night by a woman and a child.  Who were the woman and child?"..........'Madelyn'

"What's the child's name?"........'Don't know.'

"Is Madelyn an inhabitant of the Inn or just passing through?"..........'Inhabits'

"What's Madelyn's last name?"..........'Kerning'

"Is the child hers?"..........'No'

A few minutes before the session started, a guest had her hair pulled by the back staircase.  She asked "Who pulled my hair by the back stairs tonight?".........Harold - 'Amanda did it.'       Amanda - 'You told!'

"It's okay, Amanda, I just wanted to know who did it."..........Harold - 'She wanted attention.'

Guest - "Harold, are you going to be in Room 6 tonight?".........'Of course.  Look for a woman in a red dress.'

"Who's wearing a red dress?"...........Harold - 'Madelyn'       A woman's voice - '1896'

Chuck - "That's not what she was wearing when the lady saw her.  Are you changing her clothes for her?"...... Harold - 'Maybe.  I am now.'

"Harold, can you let Madelyn talk?"...........'She doesn't want to.'

Joy - "A couple days ago someone called my name, who was that?".......... 'It was me.'

"Who is me?".................'Harold.  I was right behind you.'

"Yeah, he was right behind me.  It startled me.".........'Ha ha, got you.'

Chuck - "Hey, Harold, when we don't have many guests here in the winter, and it's real quiet, what do you do all day?".............'It just depends.  Depends on the day.'

"But we haven't heard from you for a while."........'We're right here.'

"It would be nice to hear from you."...........'We're talking now.'

Joy - "Ow!  Someone just pulled my hair!  Who did that?"...........Harold - 'I did it.'

Chris - "Why did you do that?".........'She ignored me.'

Guest - "Is there a Toby here?"..........'No'

Chuck - "Is Tabitha here?"..........'Downstairs.   Watching.'

"Where's Josephine?"...........Amanda - 'Right here.'

"Who's she by right now?"...........'Black shoes.   Black boots.'

Chris took a picture of a lady wearing black boots and sitting on the floor and there was a small, bright orb by her feet.  The woman moved her feet........... Amanda - 'Be careful!'

Chris took another picture into the room and got a large orb over the head of one of the guests. .........Harold - 'You took my picture!'

Chris held the camera out for people to see the picture..........Harold - 'I look good!'

Chuck - "Is Markie here tonight?".........Amanda - 'He's gone.  I miss him.  Next time offer him something.'

"What should we offer him?".........'Breakfast'

"How would that keep him here?"..........Harold - 'He's in Kansas City.'

"What's he doing in Kansas City?"...........'Nothing'

"Is he on vacation?"........'No'

"Is he working?"..........'I don't know.   Amanda is sulking.'

"Why are you sulking, Amanda?".........'She's not happy with Markie.'

Jinni walks into the room to say good night to everybody. .........Harold - 'Hi, Jinni!'

Chuck - "Who goes along with us to watch Jinni's basketball games?".......'Everybody'

Jinni leaves the room.  "Good night, Amanda."  ...............Amanda - 'Good night, Jinni.'

Chris - "Okay, we're going to go now.  We'll be back in a few minutes with another group."..........Amanda - 'We'll be here.'

        Second session, Room 5

   We turned on the box and immediately Amanda is there. ..........'I'm still here.'

Chuck - "Oh, are you talking to us now?"..........'I want to tell you something.'

"Okay, what do you want to tell us?"............'I'm right behind you.'

"Right behind me?"............'Take my picture, I'll be there.'

"Do you like you picture taken?".........'I do.'

Chris took a picture of Chuck and there was an orb over Chuck's shoulder. .........Amanda - 'Markie's here now.'

"We'll talk to him in a minute.  Amanda, when you go with us to watch Jinni's basketball games, does Josephine go with you?".........'When he takes her.'

"When who takes her?".........'Markie takes her.'

"Markie, did you go watch Jinni play basketball this fall?".........Markie - 'Yeah'

"You didn't let us know you were here."...........Markie - 'Sorry about that.'

"I thought you were going to let us know when you come and go."........'I'll try to remember.'

"What were you doing in Kansas City?"........'Talking'       Amanda - 'I knew you were.'

Amanda and Markie started arguing about him being gone so much, so we changed the subject.

Chuck - "Is Frederick Hancock here?"..........Harold - 'Not here.'

"Did Tabitha come upstairs yet?".......'No'

"Amanda, does Tabitha stay here full time?".........Amanda - 'Yes'

"Do you play with her?"..........'Sometimes'

"Does she interact with Jinni?"........'She does.  They play.  Telephone.'

"Is Mary here?"...........'No'

Joy - "Is Curtis here?"........Curtis - 'Yeah.  I'm here'

"Were you whistling a couple days ago?".........'I was.  By the books.'

"Yes, I heard you in the parlor."..............'I was.'

Chuck - "Curtis, can you tell us the name of the riverboat you were on?"........'Don't know it.  Too hard.'

"Who plays with Misty and Smokey downstairs?"........Amanda - 'The children.  Kittens.'

"Which one do you like the best?"........'I don't know their names.  The gray one.'

"They're both gray.  Do you mean the one that's all gray or the one with black stripes?".........'Stripes'

"That's Smokey."........'Thanks.   Gave me bruises.'

"Was she batting at you?".......'I let them out.'

"Out of what?"...........'The room.'

"You mean out of the keeping room into the rest of the house?".........'Yeah.   Not supposed to.'

"Does Josephine like the kittens?".........'Yes'

"Is there anything we can work on for you?"............Amanda - 'Can't think of a thing.  Harold is upset.'

"Harold, why are you upset?"..........Harold - 'No people.'

"You want more guests around?".........Harold - 'Yes'      Amanda - 'For research.'

"What are you researching?".............Harold - 'They're just fun.'

"There were some teen aged boys staying in Room 6 last weekend and they heard four knocks on the headboard right above their heads.  Was that you, Harold?"...........'It was.'

"They really liked it.  You should do it some more."..........'I will.'

Chuck - "Harold, how about knocking for me sometime.  Or call my name like you do for Joy."........'I did.  You missed it.'

Joy - "Pull his hair, then he'll pay attention to you."..........'I just might.'

Chuck - "Is Lewis Mason here?"..........'He's with his mother.'

"Will he be back?"..........'Maybe'

"Can you let him know that we want to talk to him the next time Chris comes, in March.  We want to ask him some more about the Underground Railroad tunnel."........'Ask him.'

Chris - "Okay, any other questions from the guests?".........Harold - 'No questions?'

"Alright, then we'll go now.  Thanks everybody."...........'Bye'

      During the night, the lady in Room 8 experienced a lot of activity.  Her rocking chair started rocking by itself, and when she took a picture of it, there was a large orb on the seat.  She took another picture and the orb had moved to the foot of her bed.  Then she felt the left side of the bed go down with weight on it and her left arm got really cold.  There was a tug on her pillowcase and pressure on her left arm.  Then the pressure on the bed left and she warmed up.  A little later she heard someone going up and down the back staircase.  She could hardly wait to come down to breakfast to tell us all about it and show us her pictures.   In Room 6, the people heard footsteps up on the third floor and the room got really cold three times.  They sensed someone over by the twin bed, but did not get up to look.  In Room 1, right below Room 6, Chris and Dennis heard someone walking back and forth in Room 6 most of the night.  The people in that room said it was not them.  The people in Room 4 felt a cat on the bed and heard a 'meow'.  In Room 5, the lady in the twin bed by the wall had her hair pulled, her hand pulled on, and felt a cat lay down on her foot.
